Chevrolet has officially revealed the 2014 Impala at the 2012 New York Auto Show today.

Based on an extended version of GM’s Epsilon II platform, the all-new sedan measures 5,115 mm long, 1,854 mm wide and 1,496 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,837 mm. It features a new slim grille, a set of 18-inch wheels and projector-beam headlamps, with HID headlamps and LED daytime running lights.

Inside, the cabin has a five-seat, a 4.2-inch info screen in the instrument panel, a centrally located eight-inch touch screen display with available Chevrolet MyLink and an active noise-cancellation system.

The 2014 Impala also features some safety features, such as 10 airbags, OnStar, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert, side blind zone, collision mitigation braking and lane departure. There's also rear cross traffic alert systems, a rear camera and rear-park assist.

Under the hood, three direct injection engines are available. The entry-level 2.4-liter four-cylinder with eAssist generates 180 hp and 233 Nm of torque and the 2.5-liter four-cylinder produces 195 hp and 253 Nm of torque, while the 3.6-liter V6 develops 303 hp and 358 Nm of torque. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2014 Chevrolet Impala will go on sale in early 2013 and be available in three trim levels (LS, LT and LTZ). Pricing is yet to be announced.
