In a recent interview with Autoexpress, Mercedes's design chief Gorden Wagener has confirmed the baby SLS AMG will be built and it will be called the SLC.
He said that the model is still in its earlier stages of development, so it is expected to be released in 2014.
In order to keep costs down, the SLC is unlikely to feature gullwing doors. The car is expected to get a new 4.0-liter V8 engine with around 500 hp. The report also says that the German carmaker will offer a new 3.5-liter V6 engine with 302 hp that found in the SLK.
The Mercedes SLC has a starting price of around €80,000 and will become a rival to the Porsche 911.
