After being officially introduced in 2001 and was redesigned in 2007, more than 580,000 Avalanches have been sold. But now, Chevrolet has announced it will end the car’s production after the 2013 model year.
To mark the end of production, the American carmaker will introduce a final edition named the 2013 Avalanche Black Diamond, which comes with body-color bed surrounds, a special badge on the sail panel and additional standard equipment.
It will be powered by a Vortec 5.3-liter V8 engine with 320 hp (239 kW / 324 PS) and 335 lb-ft (453 Nm) of torque, mated to a fuel-saving Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic.
