2013 Toyota Avalon revealed in New York

Toyota has recently unveiled the 2013 Avalon at the 2012 New York Auto Show.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the redesigned model is slightly smaller than its predecessor and measures 4,960 mm long, 1,835 mm wide and 1,460 mm tall. It features a redesigned front fascia with HID headlights, steeply raked windshield, a massive air intake and a wider grille. There's also an integrated trunk spoiler, a dual exhaust system, LED combination tail lamps and 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin comes with leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, a three-zone air conditioning system, wood trim and metallic accents. Options include ambient lighting, a JBL audio system and an Entune infotainment system.

The car also has an electronic power steering system, a sport-tuned MacPherson strut suspension with stiffer springs and larger anti-roll bars, Antilock braking system, Brake Assist, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.

Toyota declined to release engine specifications.

The 2013 Avalon will be produced at Toyota's plant Georgetown and is scheduled to go on sale later this year.
