Porsche has recently announced the 2013 Boxster will be presented at the New York Auto Show. And on this occasion, the German carmaker also released pricing of the car for the U.S. market.
Set to go on sale later this summer, the Boxster has a starting price of $49,500, while the Boxster S will start at $60,900, not including a $950 destination charge.
As a reminder, the Boxter features a 2.7-liter displacement with 265 hp - 10 hp more than its larger displacement predecessor. The Boxster S gets a 3.4-liter engine with 315 hp - 5 hp more than the previous version. Both models feature a manual six-speed gearbox as standard with the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and the Boxster S is 5.0 seconds.
Fuel consumption for the Boxster with PDK is 7.7-liter/100 km (30.5 mpg US) and the Boxster S is 8.0-liter/100 km (29.4 mpg US).
