After being revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show back in March, Mitsubishi has recently announced plans to present the 2013 Outlander at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the model is actually the production version of the PX-MiEV Concept and features a round front fascia, wraparound taillights and a slender grille. It measures 4,655 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm.
The new Outlander can transport five passengers, but an optional 3rd row enables the model to transport seven passengers, which seems to be the latest trend in the family crossover segment.
Under the hood, two different engines are available, in Europe at least. The 2.0-liter MIVEC petrol engine develops 150 hp and 195 Nm or torque, while the larger 2.2-liter diesel produces 150 hp and 380 Nm of torque. A hybrid version is also expected to hit the market in early 2013.
The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander will be launched in Europe this summer, with the United States and Japan to follow a couple of months later.
