The 2012 Proton Preve has recently been launched in Malaysia for a starting price of RM59,540.
Accordingly, the Preve will be available in six exterior colors (Blue Lagoon, Fire Red, Tranquility Black, Solid White, Genetic Silver and Elegant Brown) and three trim levels. The 1.6 MT Executive priced at RM59,540, the 1.6 Executive CVT, starts at RM62,540, while the 1.6 Premium CVT costs RM72,540. All prices are on the road with insurance and a generous five-year/150,000-km warranty, a first for Proton.
Under the hood, three engines are available. The turbocharged 1.6-liter CFE Campro engine produces 140 hp at 5,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque between 2,000–4,000 rpm. This allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h 9.6-second and hit a top speed of 190 km/h. As for fuel consumption, the CFE manages 6.6-liter per 100 km in a combined cycle. The two other variants make do with the 1.6 Campro IAFM engine that develops 109 hp at 5,750 rpm and 150 Nm at 4,000 rpm. As for performance specs, the CVT version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 170 km/h, while the manual accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 12 seconds and hit a top speed of 180 km/h.
Standard features include the follow-me-home lights, LED lamps, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, brake assist, traction control, ESC, two side airbags, auto wipers, auto headlamps, auto climate control, Bluetooth, USB, iPod connectivity, touch screen with GPS navigation system, tinted windows, cruise control, leather wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel mounted paddle shifters and Smart Information Display.
