The Italian based design and coachbuilding company Touring Superleggera has recently released a promo video for their Disco Volante Concept.
Based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione supercar platform, the car is reborn as a modern interpretation of the 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante. According to the carmaker, the Disco Volante will be produced in a very limited series for the likes of collectors and each unit will require more than 4,000 hours to be completed.
It features a handcrafted aluminum bodywork with a long hood, double wishbone suspension, a distinctive rear end and a more modern design with carbon fiber.
The Touring Superleggera Disco Volante features a front-mid engine and rear-wheel drive layout. Power comes from a 4.7-liter V8 engine with 444 hp and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an electronically controlled six-speed sequential transmission with paddle-shifters and a limited slip differential, allowing the two-seater coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 292 km/h.
