Lotus has just unveiled the Exige S Roadster at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show today.
According to the carmaker, the car is essentially an Elise with a bigger engine and is the fastest roadster ever by the company.
Power comes from a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with 350 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine can be mated either to a six-speed manual or Lotus’ Serial Precision Shift (SPS) gearbox, allowing the 1,100 kg roadster to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds (0 - 60 mph in 3.8 seconds), 0-160 km/h in 8.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 233 km/h (145 mph). In terms of efficiency, the model returns a combined fuel consumption of 10.1 l/100 km (28.0 mpg) with CO2 emissions of 236 g/km.
The Lotus Exige S Roadster will be sold in Asia and Europe. Although there are no plans for the United States, but we think that it should go on sale in this market later this year.
