The Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed the i-oniq concept and the Veloster Turbo at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
Developed in Germany, the i-oniq concept features the latest evolution of the brand's fluidic sculpture design language. Power comes from a hybrid system consisting of an 108 hp electric motor and a 61 hp 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine. The model can travel up to 100 km on electric power, but the range can be extended to 700 km with the range extending engine.
Meanwhile, the Veloster Turbo is powered by a 1.6-liter Gamma GDI four-cylinder engine with 204 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed manual or automatic. This allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds - that's 1.3 seconds faster than the 138 hp non-turbo version.
