Geneva 2012: Ford B-Max

Ford has unveiled the all-new B-Max to the world's media at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

According to the North American automaker, the most important feature of the new MPV is the missing center pillar that offers a wider access to the rear seats. However, the pillar is required for car safety, so the Ford engineers had to integrate it into the rear sliding doors and hinged front doors.

Under the hood, four petrol and two diesel engines are available. On the petrol side, including a 1.0 liter three-cylinder EcoBoos with 99 horsepower or 118 horsepower, a 1.4-liter Duratec with 89 horsepower and a 104 hp 1.6-liter Duratec, which is matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. On the diesel side, including a 74 hp 1.5-liter engine that returns  a combined fuel consumption of 4.1-liter /100km and a 94 hp 1.6-liter engine that returns a fuel consumption of 4.0-liter/100 km.
