The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the world’s fastest roadster, has been unveiled in Geneva today.
According to the carmaker, the Grand Sport Vitesse is essentially a mix between the Grand Sport (roadster) and Super Sport. It comes with the open-top body structure with the removable roof that is derived from the generation of the standard Grand Sport, while the visual appearance and performance are closer to the Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431 km/h.
Under the hood, the 8.0-liter 16-cylinder engine is upgraded to produce 1,200 hp at 6,400 rpm and 1,500 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm, from the standard 1,001 hp and 1,250 Nm of torque. This allows the Vitesse to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 7.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 410 km/h in track mode makes the four-wheel drive.
Bugatti's engineers also made changes to the chassis to support the power increase.
