Mitsubishi has introduced the 2013 Outlander at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the model is actually the production version of the PX-MiEV Concept and features a round front fascia, wraparound taillights and a slender grille. It measures 4,655 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,680 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm.
Inside, the cabin comes with some higher quality materials and soft-touch plastics. The new Outlander is able to transport five passengers, but an optional 3rd row enables the model to transport seven passengers, which seems to be the latest trend in the family crossover segment.
In Europe, two different engines are available, the 2.0-liter MIVEC petrol engine develops 150 hp and 195 Nm or torque, while the 2.2-liter diesel produces 150 hp and 380 Nm of torque. A hybrid version is expected to hit the market in early 2013.
The petrol engine can be mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT, while the diesel engine is linked to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
The 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander will be launched in Russia this summer, with Europe, the United States and Japan to follow a couple of months later.
