Lexus has officially unveiled the 2013 RX 450h at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the crossover features a new front bumper, headlights with LED daytime running lights and a spindle grille. There's also restyled fog lights, updated tail lights, 19-inch alloy wheels and an optional Sport Appearance Package (not available on the RX 350 AWD).
Inside, the cabin comes with a redesigned steering wheel, optional saddle leather upholstery with contrast stitching on the seats, USB iPod/mp3 control, metallic accents and a redesigned center console.
Under the hood, the RX 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 270 hp (201 kW / 274 PS) and 336 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed Electronically Controlled transmission with intelligence, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 7.7 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h.
Meanwhile, the RX 450h has a 3.5-liter V6 Atkinson-cycle engine and two electric motors. This setup develops a total output of 295 hp, allowing the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 200 km/h. It gets 32/28/30 mpg (city/highway/combined) for the front-wheel-drive model, while the all-wheel-drive version gets 30/28/29 mpg.
