General Motors has recently unveiled the new bi-fuel versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and the 2013 GMC Sierra 2500 HD.
According to the North American carmaker, the two models are powered by a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine that has been modified to run on both gasoline fuel and compressed natural gas, offering an extended range of 650 miles (1,045 km). Both are available in two- or four-wheel drive, and in either standard or long box.
“The bi-fuel Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra provide customers with choices in advanced propulsion technology. Because CNG is a clean-burning, domestically produced fuel, it has a wide appeal. The addition of a full-size bi-fuel pickup truck to GM’s fleet portfolio is another milestone in putting the customer first in everything we do - by offering great products, innovative solutions and a great customer experience”, said GM Fleet and Commercial Operations general manager Ed Peper.
Both bi-fuel trucks comes with a three-year / 36,000 mile warranty, as well as a five-year, 100,000 mile limited powertrain and vehicle emissions warranty.
