Ford has recently announced the 2013 Taurus SHO will start at $39,995, including a $750 destination charge. That’s a $1,045 increase over last year’s model.
The refreshed Taurus can be equipped with a new performance package, which includes track-tuned calipers, performance brake pads, a sport-tuned suspension and 20-inch machined and painted wheels. There's also an enhanced extreme duty cooling system, ESC with “true off” mode and performance summer tires.
“Across the board, all new Taurus models will receive a larger brake master cylinder with revised booster tuning, resulting in a shorter pedal ratio and dramatically improved pedal feel. Brake friction material has been upgraded for improved fade resistance and performance,” Ford boasts.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost engine with 365 hp, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and AWD system.
The biggest changes for the 2013 Taurus is that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine has been added to the lineup. This unit produces 237 hp and achieves 31 mpg on the highway.
