Ford has recently unveiled the 2013 Explorer Sport, ahead of its debut at the 2012 New York Motor Show.
Set to arrive in U.S. showrooms later this year, the model is distinguished by a revised front fascia, blacked out grille, lights and roof rails, along with unique 20-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin comes with black leather seats, unique steering wheel stitching, technical look trim, a dual-zone climate control , a Sony audio system and illuminated scuff plates.
Power comes from a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 350 hp, connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system. This allows the car to return an estimated 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway (US).
On the handling front, the North America carmaker says the company has reinforced the chassis making the Explorer Sport stiffer and improving its handling, while the 2013 Explorer Sport also gets enlarged brakes and a revised terrain management system with settings for snow, sand and mud.
