Chevrolet has recently announced plans to offer a new 1LE package for the 2013 Camaro SS which only comes with six-speed manual gearbox.
Designed for track-day enthusiasts, the 2013 Camaro 1LE is distinguished by a matte black hood, a front splitter, a rear spoiler and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle Supercar G:2 tires. Inside, we get a short-throw shifter and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
On the handling front, the model is equipped with a sport-tunes suspension system, electronic power steering and a dual-mode exhaust. There's also a struct tower brace, unique monotube rear dampers, an exclusive six-speed manual transmission and a high-capacity fuel pump.
The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE will go on sale this autumn with pricing starts at under $40,000.
“The Camaro 1LE combines the best elements of the SS and ZL1 to take road-racing performance to a whole new level. That the 1LE breaks the three-minute lap at VIR puts it in the upper echelon of performance cars. That it starts under $40,000 makes the Camaro 1LE one of the most affordable, most capable track-day cars offered by any manufacturer”, said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer, highlighting the vehicle’s price.
