Roding Roadster 23 revealed

Roding has officially revealed the first photos and details for the Roadster 23, ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

According to the German carmaker, the Roadster 23 is a mid-engined car with a carbon-fiber chassis and powered by a BMW in-line 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 320 hp at 5,800 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 1,300 - 4,500 rpm. Power is transferred via a six-speed manual transmission with a Torsen limited slip differential down to the lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels which are fitted with 225/40 series tyres up front and 255/35 series tyres at the rear. This allows the 950 kg car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h 3.9 seconds, 80-120 km/h in 4.0 seconds and hit a top speed of 285km/h.

In order to get to the low weight, Roding engineers has used a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for the chassis cell, while the rear subframe are aluminum and carbon hybrid structures.

Inside, the cabin comes with two-tone leather covered lightweight Recaro racing seats with 4-point safety belts, an Alpine multi-media system with 6.1-inch touch screen and lap timer with GPS data logger.

Only 23 units will be produced.
