Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept revealed

Land Rover has unveiled the Range Rover Evoque Convertible concept, ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Based on the three-door Evoque, the concept is developed by Gerry McGovern, the Land Rover design director and is 75 kg heavier than the standard version. It features a retractable soft top with a roll-over protection and 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there's also leather seats, a Meridian audio system and an infotainment system with 8-inch dual view touch screen.

The British carmaker declined to mention whether or not the concept would go into production, but hinted it will 'explore the potential for the world’s first premium convertible SUV'. If the model is eventually green-lighted, it could reach showrooms in a couple of years and would be offered with the same four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines as the hard-top model with the option of two or four-wheel drive.
