Nissan Invitation concept revealed

Nissan has released first images of the Invitation concept, ahead of its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Set to become a production vehicle soon, the concept portrays a “forthcoming new model in the compact hatchback segment to join Micra and Juke”. According to the Japanese carmaker, the Invitation is targeting ultra-low CO2 emissions under 100g/km to wear its Pure Drive badge, so it could potentially be powered by the Micra DIG-S’ 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with 98 hp.

François Bancon, Deputy Division General Manager of Product Strategy and Product Planning Division, said “The name we have given to this concept is self-explanatory. It is designed to be inviting thanks to its sensuous exterior design and generous and comfortable interior space, cleverly packaged within compact overall dimensions. It is Nissan's invitation to buyers in the compact hatchback segment."
