McLaren P12 to be revealed at 2012 Monaco Grand Prix

According to a report by GTspirit, McLaren is planning to reveal the P12, the F1 successor, at the 2012 Monaco Grand Prix in May.

Designed by McLaren’s chief designer Frank Stephenson, the P12 will be the second model in McLaren Automotive’s lineup. It will have dramatic styling and a two-seat configuration unlike the F1.

Rumors says that the McLaren F1 successor will be powered by a tuned version of the MP4-12C's 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which will generate 800 hp. It should also be coupled with a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) system that could generate an extra 120 hp, allowing the 1,140 kg supercar to hit a top speed of 260 mph.

Only 500 units will be produced and the McLaren P12 will be reportedly launched in 2014 with an exclusive price tag of €750,000.
