BMW has opened its largest worldwide showroom in the Middle East following an investment ($81 million) from local company Abu Dhabi Motors.
The showroom features separate showrooms and sales areas for BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce and BMW motorcycles, with more than 70 automobiles and 10 motorcycles on permanent display. A total number of 450 staff members will work at the Abu Dhabi facility. The service department has a servicing area that will be able to perform maintenance on up to 120 vehicles simultaneously.
In 2011, BMW had its greatest sales year ever in the Middle East with a record of more than 18,000 BMWs and MINIs sold. Top selling vehicles were the 7-Series with 4,511 vehicles delivered. Other popular cars were the 5-Series (4,286 units) and X6 (2,510 deliveries).
