As a reminder, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is powered by the familiar M157 twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine with 529 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, or a 564 hp and 900 Nm with the optional Performance Package. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic. The German carmaker says that the new car is actually 110 kg lighter than the old version, thanks to the all-aluminum bodyshell and magnesium components, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds with the AMG Performance Pack.
The new SL63 is not only faster, lighter and more powerful, but also 30% more economical, at 28.5 mpg and CO2 emissions of 231 g/km.
