After teasing for the first time last week, Jaguar has released the first official images and details for the 2013 XF Sportbrake, ahead of its full debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next week.
Described as the most versatile Jaguar ever created, the model becomes the second body style to join the XF range. The car comes with a totally new rear end and some new panels behind the B-pillar, which are helping create a cargo area of 1,675-liter and a weight increase of just under 70 kg.
According to the British carmaker, the 2013 XF Sportbrake is only 48 mm longer than the regular XF, measuring 4,966 mm. It will compete with the Mercedes E-Class Estate, the Audi A6 Avant and the BMW 5-Series Touring.
Under the hood, two diesel engines are available: a 2.2-liter four-cylinder and a larger 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel-drive system.
The 2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake will hit the UK showrooms from the third quarter of this year.
