2012 Kia K9 flagship sedan officially revealed

Kia has just revealed the first official photos of the all-new K9 flagship sedan, which will be launched in its home market this summer.

Known internally by its codename 'KH', the model features a front fascia with H-shaped grille, a parking camera between the bars of the grille, a bumper-integrated exhaust tips and features chrome trim. According to the South Korean carmaker, the K9 rides on a new large rear-wheel-drive platform from the Hyundai Genesis sedan.

"K9 is our first rear-wheel drive large sedan, created without compromise in its design, driving performance and new technologies. K9 sets a whole new level of standards and values in the large sedan segment, and its design will be another Kia demonstration of our brand's power to surprise the world," says Soon-Nam Lee, Director of the Overseas Marketing Group.

Although not yet official, the K9 is set to come with three engine options: an entry-level 3.8-liter V6, a 4.6-liter V8 and a range-topping 5.0-liter ‘Tau’ V8.
