Tesla Model X Crossover to debut on February 9

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has recently announced that the Model X crossover will be officially unveiled to the public on February 9.

The debut will happen at the automaker’s design studio in California, although it is very hard to say yet whether the vehicle will be a concept or production version.

Very little is known about the model, but rumors say that the Model X crossover will be based on a modified version of the Model S platform and it’s expected to be powered by the same 40 kWh battery. The sedan version can do up to 125 mph and a single charge range of 160 miles, but the Model X Crossover is bigger and heavier so those numbers are expected to decrease.

The Tesla Model X crossover might go on sale sometime in 2013.
