2013 Mercedes SL unveiled in Detroit


Mercedes has officially unveiled the 2013 SL-Class at the Detroit Auto Show.

According to the automaker, the roadster has an almost all-aluminum chassis, an evolutionary design, a lightweight hardtop which can be raised or lowered in less than 20 seconds and many more things. Inside, the cabin comes with leather seats, a 7-inch COMAND display, wood trim and metallic accents.

Two engine options have been announced, a 3.5-liter V6 with 306 hp and 370 Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and uses just 6.8-liter of fuel per 100 km. On the other hand, a 4.7-liter V8 with 435 hp at 5,240 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 1,800 rpm. This allows the convertible to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and the top speed has been limited to 130 mph.
