Volkswagen design director Walter de' Silva has recently revealed the brand will launch a small crossover below the compact Tiguan.
Speaking with Automotive News Europe, he said "Crossover demand is expanding from mature markets to emerging markets and we have to cover this growing appetite with a multilateral expansion in the offer of our brands."
In addition, Volkswagen also revealed the Cross Coupe concept, which has been unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last week. However, de' Silva says that "the Cross Coupe is not a preview of the next Tiguan". Despite this, the next Tiguan will likely receive the concept's front fascia which features a wide grille, small bi-xenon headlights and turn signals.
