Volkswagen has announced plans to unveil a new all-electric concept and the production version of the Jetta Hybrid at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
First up, the new electric concept will not be based on any production vehicle and VW calling it "pure concept".
Next, Volkswagen will also present the Jetta hybrid in Detroit. The car will be powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, but there are no confirmed details on power at this time. The German carmaker said that the Jetta Hybrid is "meant to directly challenge the Toyota Prius' dominance of the U.S. hybrid market."
The VW Jetta Hybrid will arrive showrooms in November 2012.
