Mercedes has announce plans to introduce two new E-Class hybrids in Detroit.
First up, the E300 BlueTec Hybrid will feature a 201 hp 2.1-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine and a 27 hp electric motor. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 241 km/h.
In terms of efficiency, the model returns a combined 67.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km. Additionally, the 0.8 kWh lithium-ion battery is said to provide an all-electric range of less than one mile.
Next, the US-only E400 Hybrid will use a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine mated to the aforementioned electric motor. This delivers 32.4 mpg US.
