Maserati has announced the Kubang SUV will be presented at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January.
Based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform, the car will preview a production SUV which will be built in the US and might be called the Cinqueporte.
According to the Modena carmaker, the Kubang has an engine lineup designed in house by Paolo Martinelli - head of the Maserati powertrain department and for nearly 30 years at Ferrari. The new engines will be mated to an AT 8-speed automatic transmission.
