GM to unveil Buick crossover and Chevy Sonic RS in Detroit

General Motors has announced plans to unveil a Buick crossover and the production version of the Chevrolet Sonic RS at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

According to the carmaker, the Buick crossover will be based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain. It will have many things in common with the 2011 Envision Concept, minus the silly lifting doors.

Meanwhile, the production version of the Chevrolet Sonic RS is meant as “a wake-up call for the small-car segment.”

Additionally, General Motors plans to unveil two Chevrolet concepts at their design center in North Hollywood, California on January 9.
