In an interview with Automotive News Europe, VW design boss Walter de’ Silva has confirmed that Audi will launch a rival to the BMW X6 and may add a challenger to the X4.
Potentially known as Q6, the SUV-coupe crossover will sit between the Q7 and Q5 models. "We will definitely launch a sportier crossover in between the Q7 and Q5," de' Silva said at the Bologna Auto Show. But he declined to say when the car would arrive.
Audi has set its goal to surpass BMW as the top-selling premium brand by 2015.
Meanwhile, the designer also said that Audi is still pondering a smaller crossover, possibly called Q4, to fit between the Q5 and Q3. The new model would be a competitor against the BMW X4, a model will be launched in 2014.
