2013 Dodge Dart will have ZF 9-speed automatic and 40 mpg


In an interview with Reuters, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has revealed the 2013 Dodge Dart will be launched the market with a six-speed dual clutch transmission and a new 9-speed automatic transmission, which will achieve 40 mpg.

According to the automaker, in 2013, the new 9-speed transmission will be built in South Carolina by ZF Group. This transmission will help to increase the Dart's fuel efficiency by an additional 10 to 16% over the TCT.

The 2013 Dodge Dart will come with a choice of three engines, a new Tigershark 16-valve 2.0-liter engine, a 16-valve 1.4-liter MultiAir Intercooled Turbo engine, and a new Tigershark 16-valve 2.4-liter MultiAir 4-cylinder engine.
