Chevrolet has officially announced plans to introduce the 2012 Sonic RS at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show.
According to the carmaker, the model has a new front fascia with new fog lamp design, a new grille, a new rear fascia, a new rear spoiler and unique mirror cap finish. There's also a sport exhaust, unique 17-inch five-spoke wheels, lowered and stiffened suspension with performance-tuned dampers and RS badging.
Inside, the cabin has a new sport steering wheel, new front sport seats, new shifter knob and new aluminum sport pedals.
Power comes from a standard 1.4-liter turbo Ecotec engine with 138 hp and 200 Nm of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
