Volkswagen plans to sell 2 million cars in China this year

According to Karl-Thomas Neumann, president and CEO for Volkswagen's China operations, the company aims to sell 2 million vehicles in China this year.

The German automaker has sold 1.89 million vehicles in China in the first ten months, 14.8% more than the same period a year earlier.

Volkswagen expects China’s auto market to expand by 8 to 10% in coming years, with the company expecting to outpace that growth, executives said.

It is also working to double its China annual capacity to 3 million vehicles by 2015. Europe’s largest carmaker want to count on China to help it surpass General Motors and Toyota as the world’s biggest automaker by 2018.
