Tesla Model S sold out

In an interview with Bloomberg, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the Model S is completely sold out for 2012.

He added that Tesla had received over 6,500 orders and those orders are mostly from new customers.

"They're mostly new buyers," says Musk. "Only about 600 people who have ordered Roadsters have also bought the Model S."

Musk also said that Tesla could see an annual profit by 2013 - a lot quicker than many analysts expected.

The Tesla Model S will be produced at a factory in Fremont, California. Pricing is expected to come in at $49,900 after a federal tax credit of $7,500.
