Suzuki to build new plant in Vietnam


In an effort to meet growing demand for vehicles in the Vietnamese market, Suzuki said on November 16 that it will build a new automobile plant in this country.

The new facility will be located in Dong Nai province and it will have a total investment of ¥1 billion (about $13 million).

The plant is scheduled to start its production in 2013 with an initial production capacity of 5,000 units per year and is planned to be expanded thereafter.

Suzuki Motor has produced motorcycles and automobiles in Vietnam since 1993. At present, it turns out about 3,000 cars per year.
