Seat has introduced the Altea XL Electric Ecomotive prototype, which is an all-electric zero-emission version.
The prototype will be made available to government institutions - in Catalonia and Madrid in order to gather valuable information about real usage before moving on to mass production versions.
The Altea XL Electric Ecomotive is powered by an electric motor with 115 hp and 270 Nm of torque, allowing the car to hit a top speed of 135 km/h and travel up to 135 km on a single charge.
In related news, Seat also confirmed plans to launch a production plug-in hybrid in 2015 and its all-electric car a year later.
