Rolls-Royce recalled 589 Ghosts for fire risk

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Rolls-Royce is recalling 589 Ghosts built between September 2009 and September 2010, due to a defective electric auxiliary water pump that could lead to a vehicle fire.

NHTSA said "The circuit board for the electric auxiliary water pump can overheat. This could lead to a smoldering of the pump or an engine compartment or vehicle fire."

All the recalled vehicles are equipped with turbocharged engines. The Ghost recall is related to a recent BMW recall of 32,084 vehicles for the same issue.

Rolls-Royce said there are no reports of any accidents or injuries related to the recall.

The recall is expected to begin sometime in November. Owners can contact the local dealer or Rolls-Royce at 1-877-877-3735.
