Lexus planning a small GS hybrid


According to a new report, Lexus is developing a small GS hybrid to compete with the Audi A6 2.0 TDI and BMW 520d.

Speaking to Auto Express Koji Sato, deputy chief engineer, product planning said: "We are working on a number of solutions to offer low CO2 emissions and these include a small hybrid."

No details on the new powerplant, but the magazine speculates it will have a 4-cylinder petrol engine and a small electric motor with a combined output of approximately 180 hp. The model returns around 50 mpg, while CO2 emissions of 120 g/km.
