Land Rover considering a new performance sub-brand

A new report is indicating Land Rover is considering a performance sub-brand.

In an interview with Inside Line, Global Brand Director John Edwards said "there's definitely room for performance products" and the company is "certainly considering" the possibility of a sporting sub-brand.

Land Rover has built supercharged versions of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and a high-performance version of the Evoque is believed to be in development, based on the Si4. However, Edwards refused to comment its existance.

“We’re very early in the lifecycle of the Evoque and there’s a whole list of opportunities we can look at. It’s a capable car as well as being pretty. We need to demonstrate that; we need to show its muscle.”
