GM Holden has announced plans to recall more than 25.000 units due to threat of a potential engine fire.
According to the Australian automaker, the recall will affect 16,181 Series 1 Captivas built between February 11, 2008, and January 2, 2011, after a fault was found in the fuel feed hose.
It also affects 6,512 Series 1 Cruze vehicles made between November 4, 2008 and July 20, 2012 and 2,724 Epicas made between February 1, 2008 and June 20, 2011.
All the affected vehicles are powered by the 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine and Holden has received some complaints from owners about fuel smell or a leak, but the company had received no reports of fires, crashes or injuries.
"This is a different recall to the March 2010 recall on the fuel feed hose - that was the 1.8-litre petrol engine,'' said Kate Lonsdale, Holden's senior production communications manager.
Holden is contacting owners of affected vehicles by mail but anyone with concerns can contact the automaker directly at 1-800-632-826.
