2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider spied

Here are the first spy photos of the upcoming 2013 McLaren MP4-12C Spider, during testing in southern Europe. The prototype has a camouflaged roof and rear window area that reportedly hide a retractable hardtop.

Like the coupe, the convertible will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 engine with 600 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed twin-clutch Seamless Shift Gearbox (SSG) with shifting controlled via paddles mounted behind the steering wheel.
