Toyota has announced that the 2012 Camry has entered production at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia (TMMR) plant in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The Japanese automaker has been assembling Camrys at the St. Petersburg facility since 2007.
“This full model change was a great opportunity for our employees to learn new skills and get extensive new knowledge. We are now fully prepared and very proud of our vehicle, its quality and safety features”, said Yoshinori Matsunaga, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia General Director.
The Russian Camry is slightly different than its American counterpart, with a new set of bumpers, headlights, a simpler grille and larger tail lamps.
In Russia, the 2012 Camry is available with a choice of two petrol engines: a new 2.5-liter 4-cylinder and an upgraded Euro V 3.5-liter V6. Both engines are fitted with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
