BMW has announced the 2012 M3 Coupe Competition Edition to honor the 40 year anniversary of the company’s M Division.
On the exterior, the Competition Edition features a Frozen Silver paint job, black hood intakes, dark chrome exterior trim for the kidney grills, M side grills and exhaust tips, plus a set of M3 GTS 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin adds black Extended Novillo Leather with palladium silver details for the seats, headrests, door panels and handles, center console and center armrest, along with an Alcantara-covered multi-function M steering wheel with an M3 Checkered Flag logo on the door sills and carbon fiber trimming.
Power comes from a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine with 414 hp. It is mated to a double clutch transmission (M DCT), allowing the coupe to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
Production for the U.S. will be limited to 40 identically-equipped units. The 2012 BMW M3 Coupe Competition Edition will be offered for an MSRP of $ 81,060 including destination and handling.
