According to China Business Review, Jaguar Land Rover has decided to set up a joint venture with Chery and the two companies are already seeking approval from the Chinese government.
Del Sehmar, a spokesman for Jaguar Land Rover India, said "We have previously said that we would like to manufacture our vehicles in China for Chinese customers and this remains our ambition".
Meanwhile, representatives of both companies denied commenting on the matter, but if the deal is adopted, JLR's Chinese plant is expected to manufacture 40,000 units per year and all of which will be sold in the local market.
