According to a report by Automotive News, Hyundai and Kia are developing 10-speed automatic transmission.
Park Seong Hyon, president of Hyundai Motor Group, said, the 10-speed transmission will be equipped for luxury models such as the Hyundai Genesis and Equus and is slated to be introduced by 2014.
This transmission will help to improve the fuel economy and help vehicles meet stricter emissions standards.
Hyundai recently introduced an eight-speed automatic transmission in the 2012 Genesis and Equus sedans.
