General Motors has released more information on the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.
Set to go on sale in nearly 100 countries in 2012, the sedan will feature a next generation 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Ecotec engine with 190 hp and 250 Nm of torque that will take the place of the current 2.4-liter unit.
The new engine is expected to return an estimated highway fuel economy in excess of 30mpg (7.8-liter per 100 km). Meanwhile, the current Malibu is rated at 33 mpg (8.58-liter per 100 km).
GM also says “the noise intensity is 40% less than the 2.4-liter direct-injected engine".
